Fancy text generator
Type your text and copy the style you like. "Hello" in bold becomes 𝐇𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐨: five separate Unicode characters (U+1D407 U+1D41E U+1D425 U+1D425 U+1D428), not formatting, so it keeps its look when pasted into a bio, a post or a chat. In script, "Bob" becomes ℬℴ𝒷.

How it works
Unicode, the standard every phone and computer uses for text, contains several complete alphabets of styled letters, most of them in its Mathematical Alphanumeric Symbols block: bold, italic, script, fraktur, double-struck, sans-serif and monospace A–Z, a–z and some 0–9. The generator swaps each letter or digit for its look-alike in the style you pick; everything else (spaces, punctuation, emoji, accented letters) is kept as typed.
- Bold A is U+1D400 and each next capital is one code point higher, so bold H (the 8th letter) is U+1D400 + 7 = U+1D407; bold small letters start at U+1D41A and bold digits at U+1D7CE.
- Gaps: some styled letters were in Unicode long before that block, so the block leaves a hole and the older character is used instead, for example script capital B is ℬ (U+212C) and double-struck capital R is ℝ (U+211D), from the Letterlike Symbols block.
- Bubble and squared letters come from the Enclosed Alphanumerics and Enclosed Alphanumeric Supplement blocks; negative circled, squared and negative squared exist only as capitals, so small letters are turned into capitals for them. Wide text uses the fullwidth forms.
- Strikethrough and underline add a combining mark after each character (U+0336 combining long stroke overlay, U+0332 combining low line); how neat the line looks depends on the font.
The character tables are built from the Unicode Character Database (Unicode 15.1.0) by looking each character up by its official name. See data sources.
Before you paste it
- It is not formatting. A styled letter is a different character from the plain one, so search, find-in-page and spell checkers may not match it to the normal word.
- Screen readers may read styled letters one by one or by their character names, or skip them. Keep names, links and anything important in plain text.
- Character limits: most styled letters are outside the basic Latin range, and X counts characters outside its single-weight group as 2 each (source), so a styled post can hit the 280 limit sooner. Check it in the character counter.
- Missing boxes: an older phone or font without these characters shows empty squares instead. Look at the result on the device your readers use.
