How to use PlainTextKit

Every tool works the same way: open it, type or paste your text, and read the result as it updates.

Quick start

1. Open a tool from the menu at the top of the page.
2. Type or paste your own text, or start from the example already filled in.
3. Watch the result box update live — nothing to submit, nothing to wait for.
4. Use "Copy" where available to copy the result to your clipboard.

What every tool has

• A result box that updates as you type, with the headline number highlighted.
• A short "How it works" section explaining the formula behind the numbers.
• Nothing is sent to a server — all processing happens in your browser.

Character Counter

Type or paste text into the box. The result shows characters with and without spaces, words, sentences, paragraphs, lines, and estimated reading and speaking time. Below that, a checklist compares your character count (with spaces) against common platform limits (X, SMS, Instagram and others) — a row turns red once you go over that platform's limit.

Lorem Ipsum Generator

Choose a unit (paragraphs, sentences, words or characters) and an amount, then toggle whether the output should start with the classic "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet…" line. The generated text appears in the output box; "Copy text" copies it, and "Regenerate" produces a new random version at the same settings.

Typing Speed Test

A short passage appears above the input box. Click into the box and start typing it exactly — the timer starts on your first keystroke. Correctly typed characters turn green, mistakes turn red and underlined. Your words-per-minute and accuracy update live, and finish automatically once you've typed the whole passage. "New passage" picks a different practice text; "Reset" restarts the same one.
